Bringing Home Baby – Half Day

Course description

The focus of this course is designed for expecting parents, parents, grandparents and other caregivers. It provides participants with the knowledge and skills aimed at managing life‐threatening situations that may occur whilst caring for an infant or child.

Course duration

Option 1: Nationally recognised course:

  • Face to face, half day (4 hour delivery)

Option 2: Non-accredited workshop:

  • Face to face workshop (3 hour delivery)

Course content

This includes but is not limited to the general management of:

  • The unconscious infant / child

  • The infant / child febrile seizures 

  • HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (infant, child) and includes the use of an automated external defibrillator on a child

  • Backyard pool drowning/dangers of shallow water blackout (SWB)

  • Choking, Poisoning, Burns

Communicating with the Emergency Services. Stress management techniques and available support following an emergency situation, including the psychological impact on children. Infant, child basic anatomy and physiology and the consequences for provision of first aid.

Should you wish to cover additional topics we recommend; 

First Aid for Parents & Carers. 


Minimum age for participants is 14 years. It is a requirement of this course that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor (not required for workshop).


Materials provided

A quality first aid manual and a FREE CPR keyring resuscitation face mask. A coloured certificate with a coloured hard plastic wallet card, replica of the certificate. An emailed copy of your certificate when competent and a web based verification system to authenticate your award. The use of quality, hygienic adult, junior & infant manikins and training defibrillators. Up to date first aid material, PowerPoint presentation, DVDs.         


GROUP BOOKINGS ONLY. We come to you, conducted at a venue of your choice or home (our group rate is capped at 15 participants). Get a group together, contact others in your industry, clubs, mothers group, friends and family - everyone is welcome.

Certificate validity

Certificate for the accredited course is valid for 12 months as per industry standard. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommend that CPR skills are refresher annually.

Option 2: Non-accredited workshop

This course can be offered as a non-accredited workshop saving your group money and time. $975 our group rate is capped at 15 participants.



In the face to face portion of the training, you are taught how to provide CPR with confidence. There is ample time in this half day program to ask questions and to practice the necessary skills needed for providing emergency life support for infant and child (the nationally recognsied course covers adult resuscitation).


The accredited course includes and exceeds the requirements of HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. This statement of attainment is nationally recognised throughout Australia.
