On 1 January 2012, the ‘National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education and Care' began. It was introduced across Australia to help children have the best possible start in life. Under the Education and Care Services National Law ACECQA must publish a list of approved First Aid qualifications; Provide First Aid, Provide CPR, Management of Anaphylaxis and Asthma Risks & Emergencies in the Workplace.
This course includes all first aid units, under one certificate, from ACECQA approved list and is designed to comply with Childcare first aid regulations.
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults and applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.
Self-study with online eLearning prior to face to face training
Face to face, one day (8 hour delivery)
Course Requirements
Minimum age for participants is 14 years. Completion of the online eLearning is required prior to the face to face session. It is a requirement of this course that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.

Assessment
In the face to face portion of the training, you are taught how to provide first aid with confidence. Training You First Aid conducts progressive scenario and theory based assessments throughout the course linked with Individual practical assessment of competency in the use of auto-injectors (EpiPen®). Competency in the delivery of reliever medication (bronchodilators) with spacer & mask. Those that are time challenged find this flexible learning method very convenient.
This statement of attainment is nationally recognised and workplace approved throughout Australia. It is listed on ACECQA’s published list of approved first aid qualifications.
