We know how busy life can be and if you feel you have completed too many first aid courses before and can perform the competencies required, this course is for you (suitable for health care workers or experienced first aiders). We also know that many people who do first aid need it for their qualifications for their workplace. So we now offer the HLTFA311A Apply First Aid express 3 hour session for those of you who have done first aid many times. This course is not for participants who have never done this course before, and you will need a copy of your current Apply First Aid HLTFA301B/C (previously called Senior/ level 2) or HLTFA402C Apply Advanced First Aid certificate as proof of your knowledge.
If you have never done this course before or it’s been a number of years please refer to Apply First Aid and Flexible Learning Option
This course is nationally accredited and there is online theory to do before the training session. If you know your first aid then you will be able to complete the theory in a short amount of time.
Topics that are covered in the course are the same in all Apply First Aid courses, however in the assessment session your Trainer will briefly demonstrate the DRS ABCD action plan & choking. It will then be up to you to show us what you know from all of your prior knowledge and the online theory. During the assessment session you will be assessed on CPR, recovery position, use of an AED, choking, bleeding control, pressure immobilisation technique, Asthma First Aid, use of auto-injectors and your communication and assessment skills.
